TIP: Clearing Your Type Settings

If you tweak your type a lot, you're changing values in the Character palette quite a bit, and you've probably already found that Photoshop remembers these settings with a vengance (what I mean by that is, if you baseline shift a character, unless you go back and "zero that field back out" all your type will be baseline shifted from that point on). Basically, Photoshop remembers whatever settings you last used to format type. Luckily, you can quickly reset Photoshop’s type to its “default” standard settings. Just go to the Character palette, and choose Reset Character from the palette’s pop-down menu (as shown in the capture--click for a larger version).
