NEWS: Breaking New Ground for Fine Art Photographers
Trying new things takes guts, and that's why I take my hat off to Uwe and Bettina Steinmuller, who have come up with what I think is a both a bold and ingenious idea to sell their fine art prints online. Rather than you buying the prints online, and they ship the print to you--instead they let you download their high-res finished file, and print it on your own high-end color inkjet printer. I know--it blew my mind too, but when you read the article about their bold new move, it totally makes sense (although this idea won't appeal to everyone). The article is on one of my favorite blogs: "The Online Photographer" and it's really worth a read, because you may well be getting a glimpse of where this market is headed. Good stuff, and kudos to Uwe (I met him at a Photoshop World Conference--nice guy) for taking such a bold initiative.
