Lightroom Beta "Times Out" in 8 Days...but....

If you're working with the free public Beta version of Adobe Lightroom (Beta version 4.1), that Beta expires in eight days and you'll no longer be able to use it. So, to continue using Lightroom you can either (a) take advantage of Adobe's intro offer of $199 to buy the final release version 1.0 (which I can tell you is dramatically better than the public Beta with loads of new features and enhancements since Beta 4.1), or (b) or you can wait until May and pay the full $299 price (I'm not real crazy about that second option), or (c) you can go and download a free 30-day trial version of the final Version 1.0 release, and see what you think (I think you'll download it, try it for a few days, and then buy it anyway). You can do options "a" or "c" by clicking here.

The release version is sweeeet!!! I am REALLY happy with the speed increase and the extra features. I kind of wish they would have kept the photo binders in the release version (if they are there I can' find them). Anyway - I am VERY happy! Now if Amazon would just ship your new book my life will be complete! Okay - maybe I would also need a D2Xs and a 200-400 VR!

I had the best news this year today... Adobe honoured their promise to provide a complimentary copy of Lightroom 1.0 to anyone who purchased Raw Shooter Premium before the acquisition of Pixmantec.

Today I got the email from Adobe with the serial number.

So I am also VERY happy, VERY VERY happy in fact...

I so love Lightroom but I was forced to buy Aperture because the colors came out all wrong when using Custom WB (Infrared Photography) with my D50/D70:

Here's a screenshot on what I mean:
