Predicting the Near Future of Digital Photography

I ran across this article last night where the writer, Mason Resnick, had a list of ten predictions for things that are right around the corner in the digital photography industry. I guess one reason I thought it was so interesting, is that I agree with so many of his predictions (especially #9). If you've got a sec, jump over at check out this article at the Adorama News Desk (the article isn't long, and it's a nice quick read).

So which manufacturer do you think is going to bite the dust? There are really only about three major manufacturers left out there making 35mm film cameras, Nikon, Canon, and Leica. I am guessing if someone bit the dust on the film side it would have to be Mamiya. They have tried to jump into the digital market with 3rd party digital backs but I can't see them lasting much longer.
a very interesting article
One of the ten things predictions pointed at Digital refocusing as the next big breakthrough in digital photography cameras.
But it's not only MIT which is at it, also Stanford University has come up with its own version.
