COOL STUFF: A hard drive full of magazines!
Pamela Hennessy, our Photoshop TV Executive Producer, sent this my way this morning, and I was pretty impressed. It's an offer from the New Yorker magazine, where you buy an actual hard drive from them (it's a small 3"x5" 80GB portable-sized drive), and on that hard drive is an electronic version of every back issue of the New Yorker back to 1925 (over 4,000 issues). They're selling for $299, which when you think about it, is a steal. In fact, I'm tempted to buy the hard drive, and then reformat it to store photos (I'm totally kidding). It's worth a look just to see a glimpse into a new paradymn in magazine distribution. Kudos to the New Yorker for taking this bold inititive. Check it out by clicking here.

So does this mean we may finally see Photoshop User Magazine available in this form? We've been bantering about it for months now!

If you want to save a bunch of cash, the same offering is available on DVD for $63 (from Amazon, list price is $100). It was a really controversial offering because they didn't pay the writers again for new distribution. Still pretty neat that you can browse through hundreds of cartoons that really just aren't funny.
