Interesting Industry Moves
In the past few weeks there have been a few interesting moves in our industry, and I just wanted to make sure they were on your radar. The first is Microsoft's buyout of iView (the people who make the digital asset management software iView MediaPro, for both Mac and Windows, which has a loyal following among photographers). This really ups Microsoft's commitment to the pro-photo market, and I imagine this will put Microsoft fully into the "Lightroom vs. Aperture" battle in short order.
Secondly, there was Adobe's buyout of Pixmantec's "RawShooter" software for Windows and word is that Adobe will be adding their technology to the next version of Adobe Lightroom. Intersting stuff happening out there, eh? :-)

I bet Microsoft will be dropping support for the mac version in the next releases.
Or cannabalize the application and integrating the advanced core features into Vista.
